Enabling Occupation Through the Assessment and Treatment of

Cognitive Impairments in Adults

Presented by Debby McQuillen

Back by popular demand,

this two-day hands-on workshop will provide occupational therapists with the opportunity to learn and practice functional structured activities

used to assess and treat cognition in adults.

A number of standardized assessments will be reviewed and their strengths and limitations will be identified.

Participants

will have the opportunity to analyze cognitive skills and discuss how to identify a client’s cognitive strengths,

reduce impairment and provide accommodation to enable

  • occupational engagement.

This workshop is ideal for occupational therapists working in a hospital or community practice setting who work with clients who present cognitive impairments

  • (e.g.,
  • dementia,
  • acquired brain injury,

stroke) that impair their ability to participate in their valued occupations.
