When is convocation held


In academic use, it can refer variously to a gathering of all of an institution's alumni, to a ceremony at the start of the academic year to welcome incoming students, and to a graduation ceremony (sometimes otherwise known as a commencement).

Is convocation held every year?

University convocation is usually a bi-annual celebration where graduating students receive their academic hoods, and cross the stage to receive their degrees in front of their university's president, provost, faculty members and family and friends in the audience.

Is convocation and graduation the same thing?

Graduation and convocation are not the same thing. Graduation is the official recognition that you have completed all the requirements of your program and are entitled to claim the credential you have earned. Convocation is the ceremony at which your degree is conferred by the Chancellor.

What is convocation date?

Convocation Date means the date set by the Academic Council each year for the convocation of students who have completed the requirements for academic award.
