GM plans to ramp up EV production and sales in coming years. Tesla has the lion's share of the market for battery electric cars in the U.S. it is going to be the electric-vehicle leader through the end of the decade. Tesla has left itself vulnerable in one way though, and General Motors plans to exploit that weakness.
Will an EV last 15 years?
According to current industry expectations, EV batteries are projected to last between 100,000 and 200,000 miles, or about 15 to 20 years. However, even when EV batteries do age, their large initial capacity combined with minor losses in battery capacity means the aging is nearly imperceptible to drivers.
Will EV stocks go up?
According to the International Energy Agency, global EV sales doubled in 2021 to a record of 6.6 million vehicles, and have continued their strong growth in 2022. Given these sales numbers, EV stocks have started to attract a lot of investor interest.
How many EVs will 2030 sell?
The global electric car stock expands to almost 350 million vehicles by 2030, but future growth will hinge on efforts to diversify battery manufacturing and critical mineral supplies to reduce the risks of supply bottlenecks and higher prices.
