When you cross the border what do they check for

The US does not deny entry to its own citizens for having a criminal record. For individuals not selected for additional screenings, outstanding and active warrants are typically the only things that Border Patrol agents will find and consider.

What do border guards see on their computer?

Any criminal history you have. Your citizenship status. Employment information. Your phone numbers.

What do Border Patrol agents look for at checkpoints?

At checkpoints, Border Patrol agents screen vehicles to identify people who may be in the U.S. unlawfully. Agents may also enforce U.S. criminal law, such as by seizing illegal drugs or executing outstanding warrants.

What do they check at Canadian border?

When you enter Canada, a border services officer will ask to see your passport and a valid visa, if you are arriving from a country for which one is required. Visit the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada website to learn more about what travel documents are required.

Do they XRAY you at the border?

Although all X-ray scans conducted by CBP are safe and do not pose any threat to the public's health, CBP gives the driver and any other occupants of the vehicle the option to bypass pre-primary X-ray, though they are still subject to other forms of inspection.
