Free ISO & IEC Standards for Classroom Use
ANSI offers engineering faculty an opportunity to use a number of normally expensive standards for free in-class use. This program is called the American National Standards Institute's University Outreach Pilot Program.
Can I download ISO standards for free?
these standards are available online, but not downloadable (for legitimate downloads you need to purchase your copy in the ISO shop or with your national standards organisation)
Where can I find ISO standards?
The standards are protected by copyright and most of them must be purchased. However, about 300 of the standards produced by ISO and IEC's Joint Technical Committee 1 (JTC 1) have been made freely and publicly available.
Are ISO standards publicly available?
ISO is a nonprofit organization but please remember that standards are expensive to develop and selling the standards is a way to have some revenue to pay for ISO activities and make sure the organization can be active.
