Whats the difference between CDW and LDW

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) provides cover if there is damage to a rental car through an accident. LDW on the other hand, is a combination of CDW and Theft Protection, which means that you will be covered for car replacement if your rental car is stolen during the period of your rental.

Is CDW the same as insurance?

Is a CDW the same as insurance? No. A CDW is part of your hire contract and is controlled by the hire car company. Any disputes must be settled in court.

Is LDW full insurance?

It is not insurance but a contractual obligation subject to many restrictions. In some contracts, the renter may be able to choose either a full damage waiver or one that holds the renter responsible for damage only over a certain specified amount, sort of an inverse deductible.

What is not a benefit of the loss damage waiver?

What does LDW not cover? Loss Damage Waiver does not cover loss or damage where the Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions have been violated. Loss or damage to the rental car where the Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement are violated will forfeit any coverage that the Loss Damage Waiver provides.

Is CDW and LDW the same?

A Loss Damage Waiver, or LDW, is the same thing as a CDW; it's an insurance option car renters can pay for that will waive your financial responsibilities in the event of an accident.
