Who developed isoniazid to treat tb

CANDIDATES Hans Meyer and Josef Mally of German Charles University in Prague first synthesized isoniazid in 1912 as part of their doctoral requirements, completely unaware of the enormous potential their compound held for treating TB.

When was isoniazid invented?

Isoniazid is one of the drugs used in standard, first-line TB therapy for drug-sensitive patients. It was discovered in 1952.

Who invented the medicine for TB?

In 1890, Robert Koch developed tuberculin (an extract of the TB bacilli) as a cure, though it proved to be ineffective. In 1907, Clemens von Pirquet developed a skin test that put a small amount of tuberculin under the skin and measured the body's reaction. Pirquet also invented the term latent TB infection in 1909.
