Is FCA and FOB the same?
FCA and FOB are shipment terms used in different types of transportation. FOB delivery applies only to sea shipments and occurs when cargo is loaded onto a vessel. Goods delivered from from a warehouse to the water vessel are the responsibility of the seller. Under FCA, many more types of transport are allowable.

Under the shipping terms for the FCA Incoterms (short for Free Carrier), the seller is responsible for export clearance and delivery of goods to the carrier at the named place of delivery.
Is FCA better than EXW?
If you trade under EXW, the risk that the machinery gets damaged while it is being loaded on the truck is on you. If you use FCA instead, delivery occurs only after the goods have been loaded on the truck. As such, the German seller is responsible if something goes wrong during loading.
