Scales of measurement statistics

Psychologist Stanley Stevens developed the four common scales of measurement: nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio. Each scale of measurement has properties that determine how to properly analyse the data. The properties evaluated are identity, magnitude, equal intervals and a minimum value of zero.

What are the four 4 levels or scales of measurement?

Nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio data\n\n Going from lowest to highest, the 4 levels of measurement are cumulative. This means that they each take on the properties of lower levels and add new properties.

How many measurement scales are used in statistics?

The four scales of measurement are nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio.

What are the four levels of measurement in statistics?

It shows the order of variables with a meaning proportion or difference between them. For example, on a temperature scale, the difference between 20 °C and 30 °C is the same as the difference between 50°C ad 60°C. It is an example of an interval measurement scale.
