How much can I get to retire my car in California?
Consumers meeting the income eligibility requirement may receive $1,500 for each vehicle retired. All other vehicle owners may receive $1,000 to retire their vehicle at a BAR-contracted dismantler. To determine your eligibility and incentive amount, start the application process below.
What is my cap ID?
Your cap subscriber ID can be found within your Valuation Anywhere profile. This can be accessed from the account drop down in the top right of any page, and selecting 'My Profile'. From here you will find the ID listed on the left side of the page.
Can I retire a salvage car in California?
You must take your vehicle to a BAR-contracted auto dismantler to retire your vehicle. After you receive your letter of eligibility indicating your application is approved, schedule an appointment with the dismantler. To find a dismantler near you, visit our dismantler page or call (866) 272-9642.
