Carbon oxygen bond type

A carbon–oxygen bond is a polar covalent bond between atoms of carbon and oxygen. Carbon–oxygen bonds are found in many inorganic compounds such as carbon oxides and oxohalides, carbonates and metal carbonyls, and in organic compounds such as alcohols, ethers, carbonyl compounds and oxalates.

Are carbon-oxygen bonds Ionic?

There is no ionic compound made of carbon and oxygen. This is because of the fact that both of them are non metals.

Is a carbon-oxygen bond polar or nonpolar?

The carbon-oxygen double bond is polar: oxygen is more electronegative than carbon, so electron density is higher on the oxygen side of the bond and lower on the carbon side.
