How do you use ATR to set stops?

Using the ATR to set your stop levels One way to use the ATR is to identify your stop-loss level, and a common strategy is to set your stop-loss one ATR from your entry position. For instance, if you sell 20,000 EURUSD at 1.0958 and the ATR-14 is 198 pips, you would set the stop-loss at 1.1156.
A day trader may want to use a 10% ATR stop, meaning that the stop is placed 10% x ATR pips from the entry price. In this instance, the stop would be anywhere from 11 pips to 14 pips from your entry price. A swing trader might use 50% or 100% of ATR as a stop.
