Does the Sa Long Service Leave Act cover a stand down?

  • There is no provision within the SA Long Service Leave Act to cover stand downs due to a government directive. Continuity of service may apply and the period of absence may count when calculating the worker’s period of service. The outcome will depend on a decision by the South Australian Employment Tribunal or a judicial decision.

When to request long service leave from work?
