Hipparchus of Nicaea was a Greek Mathematician, Astronomer, Geographer from 190 BC.
He is considered the founder of trigonometry.
The father of trigonometry is thought to have been Hipparchus.
In the second century BC, the Greek mathematician Hipparchus made the discovery of trigonometry.
In addition to solving various spherical trigonometry issues, he produced the first trigonometric table.
The first known table of chords was produced by the Greek mathematician Hipparchus in about 140 BC.
Although these tables have not survived, it is claimed that twelve books of tables of chords were written by Hipparchus.
This makes Hipparchus the founder of trigonometry.
