How long is the EMSAM patch?
The starting and target dose of transdermal selegiline is an extended-release 6-mg/24-hour patch applied once daily.
If necessary, the dosage may be increased by 3 mg per 24 hours at two-week intervals up to a maximal dosage of 12 mg per 24 hours.
The elimination half-life of selegiline is about 1.5 hours.
Following multiple administration of selegiline 10 mg/day, the accumulation of both the parent compound and its metabolites have been reported.
