What is an introduction to literature class?

It introduces students to a range of literary genres, from different countries and historical periods.
Among the primary aims of this course is to help students develop the critical skill of analysis and interpretation.

What is the study of literature?

Literary Studies is the study of written works of the imagination, of which poetry, drama and narrative fiction constitute today the most familiar types or genres.
Most students and teachers of literature, however, see it as a more complex matter.

Examples of literary works:
