  • What is the GUM method of measurement uncertainty?

    GUM is used to identify and characterize uncertainty sources that can affect the measurements obtained from load cells and torque transducers.
    These sources may include calibration uncertainties, environmental conditions, electrical noise, stability of the test setup, and other relevant factors.

  • How do you calculate measurement uncertainty?

    Standard measurement uncertainty (SD) divided by the absolute value of the measured quantity value.
    CV = SD/x or SD/mean value.
    Standard measurement uncertainty that is obtained using the individual standard measurement uncertainties associated with the input quantities in a measurement model.

  • The method is known as GUM, which stands for Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement.
    The method is used when you have a reference sample of composition similar to what you expect in your unknown (production) sample, and that reference sample has a certified compositional value.
