The Texas Penal Code is a collection of most of the criminal laws of the State of Texas, defining various crimes and the corresponding penalties for committing them.
The Penal Code is one of 28 codes, or books, of Texas laws, which are enacted by the Legislature.
Section 1.04 - Territorial Jurisdiction (a) This state has jurisdiction over an offense that a person commits by his own conduct or the conduct of another for which he is criminally responsible if: (1) either the conduct or a result that is an element of the offense occurs inside this state; (2) the conduct outside
- The duration of the penalties of prision mayor and temporary disqualification shall be from six years and one day to twelve years, except when the penalty of disqualification is imposed as an accessory penalty, in which case, its duration shall be that of the principal penalty.
