CPI inflation was 4.2% in October 2021 (Index: 113.6), up from 3.1% in the year to September 2021.
RPI inflation was 6.0% in October 2021 (Index: 312.0), up from 4.9% in the year to September 2021.
Over the 12 months from January 2021 to January 2022, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) rose 7.5 percent.
This is the largest 12-month increase since the 12-month period ending February 1982.
Food prices increased 7.0 percent over the past year, while energy prices rose 27.0 percent.
The All-India CPI-IW for October, 2023 increased by 0.9 points and stood at 138.4 (one hundred thirty eight point four).
On 1-month percentage change, it increased by 0.65 per cent with respect to previous month compared to increase of 0.91 per cent recorded between corresponding months a year ago.
