What is the economic outlook for Europe 2023?
This Autumn Forecast projects GDP growth in 2023 at 0.6% in both the EU and the euro area.
This is 0.2 pps. lower than projected in the summer and an even larger downward revision compared to the Spring Forecast, by 0.4 pps.
The forecast revises growth in the EU economy down to 0.8% in 2023, from 1% projected in the Spring Forecast, and 1.4% in 2024, from 1.7%.
It also revises growth in the euro area down to 0.8% in 2023 (from 1.1%) and 1.3% in 2024 (from 1.6%).
Inflation is expected to continue to decline over the forecast horizon.
