Who can wear the IG badge?
The badge is required to be worn by any personnel performing official duties and assigned to an IG office after completing required training and taking an official oath.
What does the IG do?
According to the Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended, the Inspector General's mission is to: Conduct independent and objective audits and investigations relating to DHS programs and operations.
Promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in DHS programs and operations.
Prevent and detect waste, fraud and abuse.What is the Army IG motto?
Emblazoned on the Wreath is the IG motto "Droit Et Avant" which is French for "First be Correct -Then Take Action" or more commonly "Be Right - Then Forward."
- The IG acts as the eyes, ears, voice, and conscience of the commander.
The role of the Inspector General and his or her staff is to determine and report on the economy, efficiency, discipline, morale, esprit de corps, readiness, and resources of the command.
