  • What is a fellow of the American Council of Learned Societies?

    ACLS Fellowships are intended to help scholars devote six to twelve months to full-time research and writing. (See FAQ) The awards are portable and are tenable at any appropriate site for research. An ACLS Fellowship may be held concurrently with other fellowships and grants and sabbatical pay.

    The longest running program in ACLS's portfolio, the ACLS Fellowship program supports outstanding scholarship in the humanities and interpretive social sciences.
  • What is a Mellon fellow?

    In partnership with the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Columbia Global Centers Amman runs the Mellon Fellowship Program to support emerging displaced scholars working in the humanities and humanistic social sciences.
  • The ACLS/Kraidy Fellowship will be awarded annually to eligible scholars who apply through the central ACLS Fellowship Program. The awards carry a maximum stipend of $60,000 and are intended to help scholars in the humanities and interpretive social sciences devote six to twelve months to research and writing.
