    The $0.97 fee on your telephone bill marked “NB Government 911 Fee” covers the government's costs and CRTC-approved collection fee. Any other 9-1-1 fees shown on your bill are to cover your telephone carrier's costs and you should contact your carrier directly with questions about that fee.
  • What is the 911 fee in Canada?

    The 9-1-1 service during an emergency call is free of charge in Canada. Calling 9-1-1 from a public telephone booth is also free of charge. 9-1-1 calls can also be made with a disabled (no subscription) but functional wireless device.
  • What is Alberta government 911 fee?

    Starting on September 1, 2021, the existing 44 cent monthly 911 levy will increase to 95 cents per month on all Alberta cellphones. Most of this funding will go directly towards Alberta's 911 centres, with a portion covering service provider and program area administration costs.
  • A wide range of federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice and Department of Health & Human Services, among others, offer financial assistance that may be applicable to 911 projects, including Next Generation 911 (NG911) and Enhanced 911.
