- To store and process Big Data new highly scalable, available and low latency database systems are needed (Noah & Seman, 2012). Big Data systems often have databases in the petabyte range; a petabyte is equal to 1,000 terabytes or 1015 bytes.
Is big Data Analysis/Analytics computationally intensive?
- •Big data analysis/analytics requires large-memory configurations and high- bandwidth I/O but is not computationally intensive. Unlike the large-scale engineering and simulation codes, analysis and analytics is not computationally intensive.
