- Since the conversion from 120V to 12V happens on the fixture itself, the track remains at the line voltage, meaning you could theoretically have both low voltage and line voltage fixtures on the same track, though few people choose to do this.
How do I check the voltage of a track section?
- To check the voltage of a track section, I’ll first apply power to the layout. Then I’ll set the multimeter to read DC voltage and touch the positive lead (red) to the rail with positive potential and touch the negative lead to the rail with negative potential.
