Biomedical science first year exams

  • How many days a week is biomedical science?

    As a biomed student our weeks are usually busy with with going to lectures, seminars and labs weekly for each of my three modules as well fitting in independent studying.
    Typically, I have two lectures on Monday, and one on Wednesday/Friday..

first year exams are not too bad as long as you revise for them, this coming from someone who has succesfully graduated from this degree. my main point of 
How many exams? Eight. BMD100 Essential Skills For Biomedical Scientists; BMD111 Chromosomes and Gene Function; BMD113 Human Anatomy; BMD115 The Human Cell 

How is the biomedical sciences course assessed?

The only actual assessed work is done at the very end of the first year Oxford Biomedical Sciences course in 9th Week Trinity Term (summer term).
This is the Preliminary Examinations, where you sit a paper for each of the 4 Biomedical Sciences modules you take.

What did you learn in the first year of Oxford biomedical sciences?

The first year of the Oxford Biomedical Sciences course is designed to give a varied breadth of topics to allow students to learn what they find most interesting and have a good overview of the body.
I really enjoyed endocrinology, especially learning about how the thyroid, pancreas and pituitary have systemic effects that influence many organs.

What do biomedical engineering students do in the first year?

In the first year, biomedical engineering students complete the same common core courses as all other first-year engineering students.
Students apply for admission to the biomedical engineering specialization in February of that first year.
