The Biomedical Workshop provides an area for the repair, maintenance and calibration of biomedical equipment, used in the hospital.
The workshop aims to strengthen national staff capacities on improving access, quality and use of medical devices. The workshop will focus on leading topics and
Bioethical Considerations
When defining the risk–benefit ratio of studies, researchers need to consult diverse stakeholders—including underrepresented and underserved populations—and interdisciplinary experts.
To eliminate mistrust of genetic research among underrepresented and underserved communities, investigators need to engage them in developing research questions and d.
Challenges and Research Opportunities
A better understanding of basic biology is needed in key areas—such as developmental biology (particularly how the body exerts molecular control and the factors that influence differentiation into.
Opportunities to Advance The Field
Although the tools, approaches, and concepts of synthetic biology are not unique to NHLBI, they are currently underutilized in HLBS disease research and their potential to advance HLBS research remains largely unexplored.
Research opportunities: To advance the field, it is important to support two distinct but synergistic opportunities: (1) promoti.
Synthetic Biology Tools and Technologies with Potential HLBS Applications
Engineered tissues and organoids—quantitative tools for comparing microscopy-based data to models, agent-based modeling platforms, molecular and computational-aided design tools, and artificial gen.
What equipment is used in a biomedical workshop?
One of the most important test equipment in the biomedical workshop is the ECG Tester or Patient Simulator.
The Patient Simulator is connected to the ECG monitor and delivers the typical ECG signal.
Only with such a tester an ECG monitor can be repaired. more > .
What is biomedical systems engineering training workshop?
Biomedical Systems Engineering Training Workshop uniquely covers many aspects of biomedical engineering using interdisciplinary training bootcamp.
Biomedical Systems Engineering Training build a strong foundation in both engineering and the life sciences and equips our attendees to tackle complex bioengineering problems and design challenges.

Open-access, integrated ontology
The Ontology for Biomedical Investigations (OBI) is an open-access, integrated ontology for the description of biological and clinical investigations.
OBI provides a model for the design of an investigation, the protocols and instrumentation used, the materials used, the data generated and the type of analysis performed on it.
The project is being developed as part of the OBO Foundry and as such adheres to all the principles therein such as orthogonal coverage and the use of a common formal language.
In OBI the common formal language used is the Web Ontology Language (OWL).
As of March 2008, a pre-release version of the ontology was made available at the project's SVN repository.
