Bioorganic chemistry has you memorize various odds and ends of carbohydrate structure, and of what you do learn in it, a higher proportion of memorization is required than that in general organic chemistry, although there's more of everything to learn in the latter.

Is organic chemistry hard?
Organic chemistry is not as difficult as its reputation makes it out to be.
I enjoyed the course and personally found it to be significantly easier than general chemistry.
I wish I was told before my freshman year that general chemistry would be as hard as orgo because I probably would have studied more for it.
Modern Applications of Bioorganic Chemistry
Today, research projects often call for biologists and chemists to work side by side.
Scientific investigation regularly requires the adoption of techniques from both biology and chemistry.
For example, the discovery of potential new therapeutic targets requires chemical analysis of newly sequenced genomes to identify previously unexplored biologic.

The Beginnings of Bioorganic Chemistry
In the early nineteenth century, a division of chemistry emerged as scientists became interested in studying the substances they were able to isolate from living organisms.
This field, known as organic chemistry, rapidly developed to encompass the study of the chemical transformations, physical properties, reactions, and structures of organic compo.
What is bioorganic chemistry?
Bioorganic chemistry is a scientific discipline that combines organic chemistry and biochemistry.
It is that branch of life science that deals with the study of biological processes using chemical methods. Protein and enzyme function are examples of these processes.
