The Chemical Control Centre provides Biosafety Training, Policies and Procedures, and Certification options as outlined below.
This training program provides participants with key information on biological safety management, handling pathogens, biological safety cabinets, cell lines, spill response, and how to work with small animals within BSL-2 labs. All individuals who work within BSL-2 labs must complete this training program.

Does the chemical control centre offer biosafety training?

The Chemical Control Centre provides Biosafety Training, Policies and Procedures, and Certification options as outlined below.
Online training is available for the Biosafety Program.
You will need to log in with your UWinID, and proceed through the training material before an online assessment.

What if I don't have a biosafety inventory?

This will be checked upon regular biosafety inspection.
A Biological Inventory List Sheet (.xls) can be used if you do not have an inventory.

Where can I get a copy of the Biosafety certificate (research)?

The original copy of the Biosafety Certificate (Research) will remain with the Chemical Control Centre.
A copy of the Biosafety Certificate will be sent via inter-office mail to the Principle Investigator (PI).
