These three activities encapsulate the meaning of “biostatistics” for us. What is biostatistics based on?
With or without biostatistical principles, it is human nature to try to convert observations into knowledge.
It is also human nature to try to recognize patterns and make sense of observations.
So, biostatistics could be defined initially as the descriptive enterprise of observing patterns in biomedical data.
