Biostatistics admission requirements

  • Applicants will be expected to have taken the following coursework: Calculus III, a linear algebra course, and an introductory statistics course.
Prospective biostatistics students should have undergraduate degrees in mathematics, statistics, computer science or related fields. Undergraduate preparation should have included differential and integral calculus, introduction to mathematical statistics and basic computer programming.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Mathematics prerequisites (Students with less preparation in mathematics or statistics may be conditionally admitted.): three semesters of calculus. a course in matrix or linear algebra.

Do I need a GRE to get into biostatistics?

GRE General Test scores are required for admission to the Biostatistics MA program however applicants are exempted from the requirement if they meet all of the following criteria:

  • Completed two semesters of calculus for a letter grade and earned a grade of “B” or higher.

    • How do I apply for a master's degree in biostatistics?

    In addition to the prerequisite bachelor's degree, all applicants must submit an online application, a non-refundable $80.00 application fee, official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, and three letters of recommendation.
    Submitting GRE scores is optional for the Master of Biostatistics application.
