Difference between biostatistics and biometrics

Biostatistics is the branch of statistics that deals with data relating to living organisms.
The journal Biostatistics, like Bioinformatics, is published by Oxford Academic Press with the first issue appearing in the year 2000.
Unlike Bioinformatics and Biometrics, Biostatistics is not a journal of a certain society.
