This degree is designed to give students a broad understanding of accounting and provides a more practical business focus than the BCom Chartered Accountant stream and the BCom Accounting with Law stream.
It serves as a basis for the opportunity to enter professional associations, such as:

  • ACCA
  • CIMA and SAIPA.

  • The General Accounting option is designed for the student who does not wish to qualify as a Chartered Accountant (CA).
    Graduates become general managers, tax advisors, internal auditors or business advisors.

    • What is a CA (SA) career path at UCT?

    For the CA (SA) career path specifically, there are two routes at UCT:
