Complexity theory organization development

  • Organizational complexity refers to how multiple entities of an organization differentiate from each other.
A complex organization has a larger size of its organizational structure or has a higher number of resources in any division, project, or team.
According to complexity theory, the most creative phase of a system lies between order and chaos. Complex systems evolve through phases of instability until they reach a stage where equilibrium is reached between the organization and its environments and itself (Sullivan 2004; Guevara and Posch 2015).
Complexity Theory implies approaches that focus on flatter, more flexible organizations, rather than top-down, command-and-control styles of management. : 84  Key conceptsComplex adaptive systemsComplexity theory and
