Computer graphics for robotics

  • How are computer graphics used in robotics?

"Until now, there haven't been good software tools to simulate robots that are soft and squishy.
Our work is one of the first to demonstrate how soft robots can be successfully simulated using the same computer graphics software that has been used to model hair and fabrics in blockbuster films and animated movies.".

  • What can computer vision do for robotics?

Robotics can utilize machine vision to detect things, enabling them to identify and classify a larger number of items.
With such properties, robots get to do production way faster and improve retail processes..

  • What computer science is needed for robotics?

Robotics utilizes a broad range of disciplines within computer science and beyond, from mathematics to mechanics to biology.
Especially important tools from computer science include artificial intelligence, physics simulation, and sophisticated sensor processing (e.g. computer vision)..

  • Which computer technology is used in robots?

    Computer vision.
Robots can perceive, identify and navigate their environments with the help of machine vision, which uses ML algorithms and sensors.
Computer vision is used in a wide range of settings, including manufacturing procedures, such as material inspection and pattern and signature recognition..

1984 video game

I, Robot is an arcade shooter game developed and released in 1984 by Atari, Inc.
Designed by Dave Theurer, only a total of 750–1000 arcade cabinets were produced.
The arcade machine comes with two games.
The first is I, Robot, a multi-directional shooter that has the player assume the role of Unhappy Interface Robot #1984, a servant bot that rebels against Big Brother.
The object of the game involves the servant bot going through 126 levels, turning red squares to blue to destroy Big Brother's shield and eye.
The player can switch to the second game, Doodle City, a drawing tool that lasts for three minutes.
