He did a CS degree at Hull Uni and has worked as a programmer for 10 years now.
His friend's degree at Nottingham had a lot more maths in it but we picked a course that was more practical.

You really don't use too many math concepts in other comp sci courses.
Like you said, the degree itself requires a few math courses, but 95% concepts aren't used in other cs courses.
