Is laptop required in 1st year?
it's not compulsory.
If you not have in 1st year you can go to your department lab for practice,but in 2nd year you must have your own laptop.
Processor is a basic need ,it depends on your budget.
But I recommend you intel i5 12gen or ryzen 5000 series processor for smooth and fast coding..
