Is a treaty a law of the land?

Our constitution declares a treaty to be the law of the land

It is, consequently, to be regarded in courts of justice as equivalent to an act of the legislature, whenever it operates of itself, without the aid of any legislative provision

" In the exercise of judicial review, the supreme court claims the office of ultimate interpreter of the Constitution

It has thus become commonplace to think of decisions of the Court as the law of the land
