  • In 2022, four states — Alabama, Ohio, Indiana and Georgia — passed constitutional carry or permitless carry laws, making them the 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th states to do so.
    In April 2023, both Florida and Nebraska followed and became the 26th and 27th constitutional carry states.
  • You do not need a permit to openly carry a gun in Georgia, although a Weapons Carry License (WCL), also called a firearms license, allows for legally carrying of concealed firearm in states that practice firearm permit reciprocity with Georgia.
    A WCL is not necessary to purchase or carry a firearm in Georgia.
