An undergraduate course offered by the School of Engineering. Control Systems is the study of the analysis and regulation of the output behaviors of dynamical systems subject to input signals.
Course Objective: To provide a basic understanding of the concepts and techniques involved in designing control schemes for dynamic systems. Learning Outcomes: 

What does a dynamical system control course teach?

The course teaches the theory and practice behind controlling dynamical systems (everything from circuits to cars to satellites)

In general, the course places a large emphasis on the general principles of feedback: that feedback can reduce the sensitivity of a system to disturbances and change the dynamics of a system

The concepts and tools discussed in this course can be used in a wide spectrum of engineering disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, aerospace, manufacturing, and biomedical engineering

Waypoint in adventure sports

A control point is a marked waypoint used in orienteering and related sports such as rogaining and adventure racing.
It is located in the competition area; marked both on an orienteering map and in the terrain, and described on a control description sheet.
The control point must be identifiable on the map and on the ground.
A control point has three components: a high visibility item, known as a flag or kite; an identifier, known as a control code; and a recording mechanism for contestants to record proof that they visited the control point.
The control point is usually temporary, except on a permanent orienteering course.
