Corporate finance by damodaran

In his own yearly valuations, Damodaran looks at the cost of capital for each of the roughly 46,000 publicly traded companies in the world, finds the median, and gets a distribution.
When he values a young company, he uses the 90th and 10th percentiles from the distribution rather than trying to estimate a discount rate for the company.

Damodaran focuses on the idea of a country risk premium.
The idea is to add to the equity cost of capital (computed with the CAPM) and the debt cost of capital a country risk premium.
This premium will reflect the additional risk to invest in an emerging or less advanced country.
