History behind cosmetology

The use of cosmetics to improve appearance goes back to before the first century. The Egyptians used various organic and mineral material to create makeup as far back as 4000 BCE. They used crushed red ochre as pigment, and a substance called kohl as eyeliner (made from galena, sulfur, and animal fat).
