Do cscds receive funding from TDCJ-CJAD?

Although CSCDs receive funding from TDCJ-CJAD, they are not part of the division.
They are organized within local judicial districts, from which they receive office space, equipment and other forms of support.

TDCJ-CJAD does not work directly with offenders, but with the community supervision and corrections departments (CSCDs) that supervise the offenders.

The division director seeks advice from a 12-member council of judges and citizens, known as the Judicial Advisory Council (JAC).
Any standards, rules, or guidelines the division proposes must be approved by the Texas Board of Criminal Justice (TBCJ) before they can be adopted.
