Cultural after-school adventures program (casa)

The Cultural After-School Adventures Program (CASA), is an initiative of The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs that supports after-school cultural activities at public schools in all five boroughs.

The Cultural After School Adventures program (CASA) provides a wide array of high-quality cultural experiences to youth enrolled in after school activities.

How do transitioning high school students participate in Casa Academy?

Transitioning high school students are referred to participate in CASA Academy by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions

Students must apply to Morgan State University in order to be referred to CASA Academy

We accept a maximum of 300 students for each summer cohort

Students are enrolled in non-credit bearing courses during CASA Academy

What are after-school and community-based arts programs?

After-school and community-based arts programs are an incredible opportunity to truly educate students through the arts and provide them with experiences and opportunities they are not getting in the school environment

Teaching in this environment goes beyond measuring outcomes solely on artistic progression and academic performance

What is Casa after school program?

CASA is a licensed, after-school program for elementary school students (K-5) that provides a safe, fun environment for children of working parents

The activities are designed to enhance recreation, behavior, social and physical skills
