Data acquisition timing labview

  • What is timing rate in DAQmx?

The Rate input of the DAQmx Timing function determines how fast the samples are acquired and put on the hardware FIFO.
The value specifying the rate is dependent on the timebase specified in the source input of the DAQmx Timing function.
The rate specified must be a division of the source.Apr 24, 2023.

Jun 21, 2023This document covers the basics of timing and synchronization in NI-DAQ™mx within the LabVIEW ADE. In particular, topics discussed include  Why Timing and Behind-the-Scenes APIMixed-Mode Measurements

Are NI M series data acquisition devices suitable for synchronization?

Many applications require precise control of timing and the ability to synchronize multiple operations.
NI M Series data acquisition devices provide excellent tools for synchronization and are well suited for these applications.

How does a Ni DAQ pause trigger work?

NI DAQ boards support such a functionality using a feature known as “pause trigger” (NI-DAQmx).
Here, the internal sample (scan) clock is gated by an external signal such that the sample (scan) clock pauses while the external signal is low and resumes when the signal goes high (or vice versa).

How to use LabVIEW control design and simulation loop with real hardware?

Timing is an important consideration when using the LabVIEW Control Design and Simulation Loop with real hardware.
Since the Control Design and Simulation Loop uses a built in ODE solver with time steps, it is important to set the Simulation Parameters and the Timing Parameters of the loop to have the same time step.

What is a digital pause trigger in LabVIEW?

The following figure shows a typical implementation of a digital pause trigger in LabVIEW.
In digital pause trigger, the gate signal for the sample clock is a TTL signal.
Any PFI line can be used for as a gate signal on the DAQ card.
The figure shown on the slide shows the timing diagram for high-level digital pause triggering.
