Daqmx data acquisition palette

  • What is DAQmx used for?

NI-DAQmx is the driver software you use to communicate with and control your NI data acquisition (DAQ) devices..

  • What is the task state model of the DAQmx?

The task state model consists of five states—Unverified, Verified, Reserved, Committed, and Running.
You call the Start Task function/VI, Stop Task function/VI, and Control Task function/VI to transition the task from one state to another..

  • Where is DAQmx in LabVIEW?

    LabVIEW

    1. Open LabVIEW
    2. Click the Help menu
    3. Select Find Examples
    4. Click the Browse tab
    5. Navigate to Hardware Input and Output \xbb DAQmx

  • Right-click the device name and select Configure.
Be sure to click the device name under the folder for the system (My System or Remote Systems) and NI-DAQ API in which you want to control the device.
For Network DAQ devices, click the device name and then the Network Settings tab to configure network settings.

How do I create a waveform chart using DAQ MX read?

Open the Front Panel of your VI and create a Waveform Chart by right-clicking to open the palette, then selecting Silver»Graph»Waveform Chart (Silver) .
On the Block Diagram, connect the data terminal of the DAQmx Read to your waveform chart.
This will display your waveform data.
Add a Wait (ms) function and a stop button to your loop.

What is a DAQ assistant?

The DAQ Assistant is an easy-to-use graphical interface for configuring measurement tasks and channels and for customizing timing, triggering, and scales without programming.

,

What is the default trigger source for DAQmx a/D conversion?

The default trigger source is PFI0, but an alternate trigger source (e.g., another PFI line or RTSI line) can be selected by setting the Source of the DAQmx Trigger VI.
In a pretriggered acquisition, the A/D conversions are initiated with a software function call.

Why is synchronization important in DAQ?

Synchronization of the data acquisition (DAQ) process relative to an external event is an important criterion in many DAQ applications.
For example, you may want to collect data after receiving a pulse signal from an encoder or when the temperature of a chamber exceeds a critical value.
