We can classify data in a few different ways.
First of all, we can classify data into different types by looking at what form it takes, and then classify these types depending on how it has been collected.
Qualitative/categorical data is anything that isn’t a number, for example words.

There are two types of quantitative data, continuous and discrete.
Continuous data can take any numerical value.

For example there may be an input form asking for a username.
It is expected that the user will type in some letters and numbers for this.
