You'll be asked to show your dentist written proof that you do not have to pay for all or part of your NHS treatment

Pregnant women and women who have had a baby or a stillbirth in the last 12 months get free NHS dental treatment
You may be able to get help with the cost of your dental treatment and other NHS charges through the NHS Low Income Scheme. This includes students and pensioners. You can apply if your savings, investments or property (not including where you live) are no more than £16,000, or no more than £23,250 if you permanently live in a care home.You don’t automatically receive free NHS dental care when you reach the state pension age, which is currently 65 for both men and women. But you may qualify for free or discounted dental care depending on your income and the kinds of benefits you currently receive. Otherwise, you’ll still have to pay for NHS dental services as a pensioner.For those without a pensioner’s card, you may also still be eligible for reduced or free dental work with a Health Care Card. This works similarly to the pension cards in that you have a limit per year on what you can claim and you need to show the card at your appointment.Free Dental Treatment If you receive Pension Credit, you may be entitled to free dental treatment. How to claim: ask your dental surgery when you make an appointment. You may need to complete a declaration form and show your award notice from the Pension Centre.
