Dermatology undergraduate research

Approximately 530 residents graduate each year.
Following primary certification by the ABD, a dermatologist can decide to pursue additional specialized training in Dermatopathology, Pediatric Dermatology, or Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology.
This involves a year of training in an approved fellowship training program.

The unit works with Stanford's own panel on medical research, leading pharmaceutical companies,and the Food and Drug Administration to safely and ethically expand the medical field's knowledge of dermatologic treatments.

Research in Clinical Dermatology addresses all aspects of clinical practice and fundamental understanding of dermatology and skin care practice through the rapid publication of high-quality original research, systematic reviews, meta-analyses and technology reports covering all aspects of the management of dermatological conditions.

The University Department of Dermatology is based in the Lauriston Building on the central University campus.
There are two members of established academic staff, Professor Jonathan Rees, Grant Chair of Dermatology and Dr Richard Weller, Senior Lecturer in Dermatology.
