Descriptive statistics excel easy

How to do basic Descriptive Statistics in Excel?
In excel go to Tools -- Data Analysis.
If you do not see "data analysis" option you need to install it, go to Tools -- Add-Ins, a window will pop-up and check the "Analysis ToolPack" option, then press OK.
Try running data analysis again.
In the pop-up window select "Descriptive Statistics" click OK..

How do I use descriptive statistics in Excel?

Using the Desktop version of Excel, enter the data into the spreadsheet

Once the data is in the Excel spreadsheet, click on the Data tab on the main menu, and select Data Analysis

Click on the Data Analysis Option on the far right-hand side of the menu

A dialog box will appear

Select Descriptive Statistics and hit the OK button

The different statistical values that are displayed in descriptive statistics are as follows – Mean: The arithmetic average of the dataset values

Standard Error: The measure of the variability between predicted and actual values in the dataset

Median: The central value that separates the higher and lower halves of the dataset

Descriptive Statistics

1. On the Data tab, in the Analysis group, click Data Analysis. Note: can't find the Data Analysis button? Click here to load the Analysis ToolPak add-in.
2. Select Descriptive Statistics and click OK.
3. Select the range A2:A15 as the Input Range.
4. Select cell C1 as the Output Range.
5. Make sure Summary statistics is checked.
6. Click OK.
